Free careers talks are being offered by Yorkshire Water for schools around their region, to mark National Apprenticeship Week - 5-11 February, and National Careers Week - 4-9 March 2024.

The UK utility’s dedicated education team will be delivering three virtual careers talks on 7 February and 6 March, and the sessions will last 45 minutes. They will outline what Yorkshire Water does as a business, examples of roles at the company, an overview of pathways into the business and the apprenticeship and graduate roles available.

Students at participating schools will also hear from people currently working at Yorkshire Water about their experiences and careers with the company. Students will also be able to ask questions.

“Everything from engineers to scientists, IT experts to human resources professionals and customer service representatives to treatment works operators – there’s a wide breadth of careers available at Yorkshire Water and we hope these sessions will spark the imaginations of students and show what the water sector can offer.”

Schools can sign up to take part in the sessions via the education pages on Yorkshire Water’s website.

The water company’s education team also offer virtual water safety presentations, in partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and the West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service, aimed at 11-16 year old students. The next sessions are on 20 June and 4 July and can also be booked via the Yorkshire Water website.
