Beach clean-up hits million mile mark
An amazing milestone to clean up a million miles of beach has already been passed by environmental campaigners Surfers Against Sewage.
The Million Mile Clean launched this year with the aim of connecting everyone’s beach cleaning action. The target of 100,000 volunteers walking 10 miles, while cleaning the places they love, has already been reached.
100,000 volunteers X 10 miles each = 1 million miles
Surfers Against Sewage says that after more than a year of isolation, social distancing and reduced physical activity, the Million Mile Clean reconnects communities with the environment, whilst promoting the benefits of volunteering for both mental health and physical wellbeing.
